Better three hours too soon than a minute too late.

– William Shakespeare.

We try to beat it, even though we want more of it. We spend it, sometimes wisely and sometimes foolishly. We watch it fly by, and try to buy it. We can’t control it, and it does not wait for us.

TIME. Who wants some? Everyone. Especially if you own a business.

Try to find something that frustrates a human more than wasted time.
Think of just how impatient we have become with the internet. Especially those of us who grew up amongst the good old days of dial-up. (I can still hear that tune when I think about it.) We are quick to click the mouse, or tap our phones incessantly when our devices are performing slightly slower than we wish them to be.

During my time as a recruiter, I discovered that there was a HUGE waste of time between candidates and clients. (the potential employers) This had me SEETHING some days.

Time wasted in interviewing schedules

Time wasted on the candidate having to interview 3 – 4 times minimum

Time wasted chasing down hiring managers

Time wasted on “potential” clients

Time wasted on no shows to an interview

Time wasted on contracts that fell through because the company changed its mind

Time wasted on potential employer branding by hiring a 3rd party to recruit

Time wasted on phone calls, emails, meetings, etc.

This was what really got to me because I knew all that TIME could be put back into the human aspect of employment and everyone would benefit from it.

Then, one sunny morning, Tracy and I sat down in a tiny restaurant in Courtice (great food BTW!) and she explained her distaste as a Human Resource professional in that exact same issue. The time wasted for the company, and the potential candidate.

I remember her saying “I’m interviewing them anyways, so it does feel like a resume service. Hardly ever would I allow the recruiting company to just send someone.”

Tracy is the type of HR to be very involved with the people and culture of the companies she has worked for. Her expertise in bringing on the right people, the right way has led many to years of successful retention long after she has moved on from the companies she has serviced.

We knew we could cut that time into a third by doing one drastic measure:  Rather than recruit, build a company candidate pipeline infrastructure through policies and procedures that made sense to THEM. OH and then we can guide them!

Ok, so what does that mean.

It means we are not a recruiting company. We don’t waste anyone’s time.
